Personal Data Entry Instructions
In order to create a new entry in your weight/fitness journal, you should input your height (in inches), weight, and measurements. However, we strongly encourage our members to complete the entire personal data input process to track the many positive health changes that they will experience on the Eoshape program.
To obtain consistent and accurate measurements, please use the following guidelines:
With your shoes off, step on the scale and record your weight.
Once you’ve input your height (in inches) and weight, the Eoshape system will automatically calculate your Body Mass Index.
The next step is to take and record your measurements. You should be dressed in clothing that does not add inches and try not to hold your breath. Women should wear the same type of bra each time they take their measurements. Arm and thigh measurements should be taken consistently on the right side of your body
- Measure your chest by passing a measuring tape around the widest part of your chest
- Measure your waist by passing a measuring tape around the narrowest part of your torso
- Measure your hips by passing a measuring tape around your hips at the maximum protrusion of your buttocks
- Measure your upper arm by passing a measuring tape around the spot halfway between your shoulder and elbow
- Measure your thigh by passing a measuring tape around your thigh just below the crease of your buttocks
Once you’ve input your measurements, the Eoshape system will automatically calculate your waist to hip ratio.
Next input your blood pressure. If you do not have a home blood pressure machine, most national drugstore chains, like Walgreen’s and CVS, have self-service blood pressure machines for your use.
While you’re on the Eoshape plan you should see dramatic improvements in your body fat %. So, although recording your body fat % in your personal data tracker is optional, it can be very motivating as you work to achieve your goals. Your body fat % can be measured in a number of different ways. The most common ways are with calipers and bio-impedance machines. Although there are a number of affordable bio-impedance machines sold at national drugstore chains, you may also be able to have your body fat % measured at your local health clinic or gym or at your doctor’s office.
In order to take your resting heart rate, sit quietly for several minutes, close your eyes, and take some deep breaths. Then place your index and middle finger on your wrist (thumb side), the side of your neck, or your temple and take a 10-second count. If you are taking your pulse on the side of your neck, make sure that you don’t press hard enough to restrict blood flow. Take your 10-second count and multiply by 6. Then record your resting heart rate.
Finally, using a digital camera, have a friend take a photo of you (or use the automatic timer on your camera to take a photo of yourself). Upload the photo to the Eoshape system and your done.
